Of Gangs and Royals

OUT ON THE TOWN - chapter 3
As we walk out of the palace yard I wave to
Trowa as we walk past and he waves back to me and nods to Cat, and he blushes
but turns his head so Trowa won't notice, and I laugh at him for that. As we
walk down the sidewalk and weave in and out of crowds Cat asks me "Why do you
laugh?"
I stop walking and look at him "what do you mean?" I think 'odd
question.'
"You laughed at me back there. for blushing." he looks down at
the ground and what looks like shame appears on his face.
"Hey Cat I'm
not laughing at you. I just think it's cute that you blush 'cause he nodded at
you. I think it's cute that's all." he looks up at me unshed tears in his eyes,
"r.really?" he asks like a child asking if Santa is real, wants to know but is
afraid of the answer. "Really Cat" I smile softly at him.
I put my arm
around his shoulders and we start walking again, "So Cat I'm guessing you
haven't seen a street show before am I right?"
"What's a street show?" he
asks, again with that child like wonder.
She new that her life had passed
her by and she called out a warning
Don't ever let life pass you
by!
A girl with purple black hair and dark blue eyes was dancing around
singing that and a boy dressed as a priest with an extremely long braid was
singing as back up vocals, he was also walking around getting money from people
who were standing around listening.
"She's good" Cat said pointing toward
the girl, and again the child like glee was back on his face. He was looking
around with wide eyes, eyes of an innocent she noted.
The song changed
and the girl started head banging while singing and the boy started to jump
around and people started to give them more money.
"People really seem to
like this." Cat commented.
I smile "yea well who doesn't like a show!" I
shouted over the music, he smiles.
The girl and boy spot us and as the
song ends they announce that they'll be taking a break, the crowd seems
disappointed and they say that they'll be right back and that their there almost
every day, and start to walk towards us, which seems to surprise
Cat.
"Luca!" the girl yells and then looks at Cat, raises an eyebrow at
him and looks back at me, just as Duo walks up grinning as always, he looks at
Cat then looks at me eyebrow raised.
I laugh at that and say "Cat this is
my little sister Dee and this is Duo, guys this is Quatre." Dee shakes his hand
and smiles at him and says "if Luca gave you a nick already well then you must
be alright!" then Duo shakes his hand "Hey man" and with a nod to me he hands
over a wad of cash "here Luca all the money we got this morning but uh. why are
you here I thought you were watchin Tro today" he said.
"Yea I was but I
know that Tro isn't gonna say anything. I mean come on Duo he hardly talks!" I
say with enthusiasm.
Duo nods at that knowing that it's true, "ok well
we'll stay for a bit longer till it gets too hot out then we'll come home" at
that I just nod.
"Ok well you two make me proud we're outta here" I say
as I grab Cats arm and start to drag him off when Duo shouts "Buy good food!" I
laugh and continue to drag Cat off while he yells 'it was nice to meet you', I
just give him a look he looks back at me and asks "what?" my response is just a
shake of my
head.
