Chapter 6:

'Just come over here- I'm not going to hurt you. Be a good girl now, and come over here and I'll let her go. You don't want to see her get hurt, do you?'

Noin glanced around fearfully, before letting her gaze come back to rest on the man on the other side of the room from her, holding Sally tightly around the neck. She had just walked through the door, to be confronted with the nightmare again… It was always the same.

She looked on desperately- it was as though she wasn't there though- she was just an observer, watching herself and the scene around her from years before in confusion. She watched on helplessly as she saw the younger version of herself hesitate, her violet eyes widening as she saw the man's hold on Sally tighten, and take a step forwards towards the two.

Sally, struggling desperately, had managed to loosen the grip of the man's hand over her mouth and around her neck for a second.

'NO!!! Noin- don't come! He'll get us both if you come- run- RUN!!! Remember who you really are for the day when you can come back and save us!! Remember for the sake of all of us- don't be afraid of who you really are. Don't let them catch you- Just GO!!!'

Noin looked on in frustration, as the smaller 'her' turned with one last look at her friend, before turning and started into a stumbling run.

Noooo…!!! She wanted to scream. Don't leave- I can't leave Sally again…. Come back…

She tried to cover her ears as the scene faded from before her eyes- everything faded to pitch black. She only wished that the sounds had faded with the memory- Sally's screams as she fought to get away from the man who was hurting her as she ran echoed in her ears, following her as she fled from her best friend. The only person she had left in the world who had cared, who had known who she was but didn't mind and treated her like any other normal person…

Noooo…… no- don't leave, I can't leave, I'm so sorry Sally, I'm so sorry…

Noin awoke with a start, and stared around her in confusion, listening to the harsh pants of her own breathing, the nightmare disappearing into her subconsciousness, leaving her with fragments of memories.

Feeling her hand cramping up, Noin tried to move her fingers, and winced. Her right hand was wrapped around the necklace she always wore. Her fingers were wrapped around the pendant so tightly, that her hand must have cramped up from the strain. Wincing, she slowly moved her fingers off the pendant, massaging her hand when it finally lay in her lap, marks of where the chain and pendant had pressed into her flesh still plain.

Sally… I'm so sorry I let you down- I'm sorry… you shouldn't have had to suffer for what I am- I'm sorry I bought all this pain to you. That I've let you down and not become what you thought I would be- I don't have the kind of strength or powers you thought I had… I'm sorry; but I can't even remember what that kind of power is like anymore

Relena sat up in bed- what had been happening…? She had dreamed that she was in a room, looking on in terror, as her best friend was caught- used as bait to lure her in. The feelings had been so intense- the fear she had felt in the dream leaving a bitter reminder as the nightmare faded as quickly as it had come upon her. Glancing around, she sighed, swung her legs out of the bed and walked over to her window, pulling the curtains apart to let the first rays of the sunrise strike her face, driving the rest of the fear and terror away.

Milliardo looked up and glanced around him sharply as a wave of uneasiness washed over his senses. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, he sighed, rubbing at his temples.

Must be because I didn't sleep all night… he thought to himself. But its not like I could have gotten to sleep anyway. Every time I close my eyes I'm plagued with that dream. Every time I try to think of something else, I either end up thinking about her… I wonder who that girl really is… or…

Lifting his head out of his hands, Milliardo frowned as the intensity of the feelings he was intercepting from someone increased.

Probably Relena having some kind of a nightmare about me not turning up to get her away from those boys last night, he decided, then frowned. No. It couldn't be Relena- at least, not dreaming about what he had first thought. There were traces of other emotions mixed with what he was feeling other than uneasiness. There were traces of fear- terror. Grief. Failure.

Milliardo's frown deepened. I'll have to talk with her about this… he thought, reaching down the link he and Relena had always shared. This dream must have been strange though- strange enough to startle her out of her normal control. Its not like Relena to lose restraint over something as simple as her dreams- she hasn't dreamed so loudly for years…
